“Pride of the Dardanelles” was born in Old West Hoboken in 1911, as Ralph Lanni. He became known as Ralph Lenny when people mispronounced his given name. In his career he opposed such as Young Zazzerino, Harry Calton, Phil Goldstein, Petie Mack, Herman Pedick, Bruce flowers, Solly Ritz and Sammy Mandell.
