James Walker was born on January 8, 1925 in Plainfield, NJ. He turned Pro in 1948 without the benefit of an amateur career. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1949 and honorably discharged in 1951.
Walker won the New Jersey Heavyweight Title in 1951 when he defeated Archie McBride, in Laurel Garden in Newark, NJ. He held the title until 1953.

After Retirement, he embarked on a musical career &. became an accomplished trombonist.
Jim lost his lovely wife Gloria in 1977. Today James Walker is retired &. resides in Orange, NJ. A credit to his family &. to boxing, We congratulate this fine man.
