BILLY WHITE was born Simon Gallette in Novia Scotia. He boxed out of Jersey City from 1922 to 1932 and met such greats as Louis “Kid” Kaplan in Boyle’s 30 Acres who was the Feather Weight Champion, Baby Joe Gans, Harry Felix and Young Jack Thompson, Between 1923 and 1928, he had 77 bouts, KO’ed 30 – won 31 By Decision – 6 No Decision bouts – lost 5 – was KO’ed once and 1 – NO Contest – and 3 draws. One of the draws was with Tommy “Kid” Murphy, in 1926, who is here at tonight’s Dinner.
